Nothing speaks more highly of a university than alumni who enthusiastically serve and support their alma mater. Whether you help recruit students, speak at a career workshop, join an alumni group or serve on the Board of Directors, you will walk away with a sense of accomplishment and pride, knowing that you truly make a difference in the lives of McNeese students.
Volunteers play a critical role in McNeese’s continued success. Volunteering gives you the chance to connect with prospective students, current students, alumni, and friends and to be a part of our community, not just for four year, but for a lifetime. Whatever your interest, we have a role for you.
Recruitment - volunteers can work with the McNeese Admissions Office to contact prospective students through e-mail, phone, or mail. They can host a prospective student and parent’s reception in their hometown and can represent McNeese at college fairs in their area.
Career Center - students crave “real world” advice and experiences that alumni can offer. You can help a McNeese graduate launch his or her career by letting the McNeese Career Services Office know when your employer has job openings. Let us know when your employer is willing to sponsor an internship for a McNeese student. You can even volunteer as a guest speaker for Career Day events on campus.
Marketing and Communications - the Alumni Office is always looking for news about alumni. We encourage you to offer story ideas for our various publications; to join the various alumni social networks; to keep your personal address an e-mail address up-to-date in the Alumni Office so that you can continue to receive university updates and invitations.
No matter where you are, or how busy your life might be, there is always a way for you to stay connected to McNeese State University. You can show your pride by wearing the official McNeese Ring, placing a McNeese sticker in your car window, have the McNeese license plate on your car, and proudly wearing the blue and gold colors. You can participate in alumni activities such as homecoming, reunions, and local chapter events. We encourage you to attend McNeese concerts, public lectures, plays, athletic events, and more. Most importantly, we want you to hire McNeese graduates and provide internships for McNeese students. You are the best student recruiters that we have and we want you to share the McNeese Story with young people and to always speak well of your alma mater. You can give of your time, your talents and your resources to guarantee that McNeese can reach its full potential and continue to serve the students of our area.
